Tight Pockets @ the WPC 2006
WPC (World Pool Championship) is currently being held at the PICC from November 4-12. This is the same tournament that Efren Reyes won last 1999 and Alex Pagulayan last 2004. I've watched closely the performance of the Filipino contigent and too bad Efren lose to fellow Pinoy veteran Ronnie Alcano during the round of 32. The pressure of winning in front of your countrymen got into Reyes' head. It could also be the size of the pocket. Dont you think? Take a look at this...
I've catched the later part of the Luat-Alcade match that went hill-hill. It was a thrilling match where Luat came victorious to the score of 11-10. These are the lists of the games for the last 8:
Ronato Alcano PHI vs. Wu Chia-ching TPE Luong Chi Dung VIE vs. Li He-wen CHN Liu Cheng-chuan TPE vs. Ralf Souquet GER Rodolfo Luat PHI vs. Fu Che-wei TPE
Too bad, Joe and I were not able to play billiards after the Ginebra vs San Miguel match at Araneta (more on that later). I was not able to join Beng and Kaye when they played billiards with MIke and Earl at Malate last week. Hai hai hai! Anybody there who wants to play some friendly billiard games with me? :) |
